Sant Josep deserves a visit at any time of the year due to the extensive calendar of activities, which occur during the twelve months of the year. Exhibitions at the Can Jeroni Culture Centre, the Fira de la Sal or musical events, such as Sant Pepe Rock, are held outside the tourist season.
1SES SALINES
Ses Salines Natural Park is one of the most spectacular spaces on the island of Ibiza. The visitor can observe natural biodiversity, spot flamingos and visit defence towers. In addition, this area is bathed by the crystal clear water of two of the best known beaches worldwide: Ses Salines and Es Cavallet.
2POPULAR FESTIVITIES
Coinciding with the patron festivity of each village, Sant Josep celebrates in March one of the most popular events for the residents: the outdoor flower power. To this is added, also in March, the legendary music festival, Sant Pepe Rock, or Cañas ’n’ Roll, in December.
3ILLOTS DE PONENT
This nature reserve is where you find one of the most emblematic images of Ibiza: the majestic islet of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell, whose beauty increases at the famous sunset. Near this point, you can enjoy the scenery and the crystal clear waters of Platges de Comte.
4CHILDREN’S THEATER
The Festín, a Festival of Children and Youth Theatre held in Sant Jordi, has already celebrated 27 editions creating excitement and joy for all kind of audiences. It takes place in June and throughout several days you can enjoy professional and amateur shows of theatre, clowns, dance, circus and magic.
5FIRA DE LA SAL
This is a cultural event, which takes place in October in Sant Jordi de Ses Salines to honour the salt industry and its workers who are still alive. For several days, the work of the salineros is staged combined with exhibitions, conferences and excursions.
6ART EXHIBITIONS
Throughout the year, Sant Josep offers exhibitions at the Can Jeroni Culture Centre and in Can Curt, located in Sant Agustí. Both spaces deserve a visit because of their marvellous location.
