Doing Sports allows many families to enjoy the island and discover it in its different aspects. Trails for all people, including minors, and the Mediterranean climate make Ibiza a reference destination for sports tourism. The tourism-sport combination attracts an increasing number of visitors.
Throughout the year, you can enjoy a lot of cycling routes, bike rides and athletics events promoted by the Consell and the municipalities, which aim to promote a healthy life.
Among the popular competitions that the island residents are most excited about is the Pujada a la Catedral on December 31, a 2.2-kilometer route that takes the runners, who wear in many cases a funny costume, through the steep and narrow streets and alleys of the old town Dalt Vila, and the Carrera Flor d’Ametller, on February 23, which leads through the Santa Agnès valley when the almond trees are in bloom.
