One of the Formentera coast’s attractions are the beach bars. Besides the restaurants at the seafront, you find as an alternative kiosks which are a very nice way to enjoy the beach in a relaxed atmosphere. The eight existing beach bars are open all year round, although in winter only on weekends and depending on the weather conditions.
At the Migjorn beach there is the kiosk Bartolo, a balcony hanging over the cove of Es Caló des Mort; in Es Arenals, la Franja; one of the oldest is the Pirate bus; and Lucky as well as the 62 are essential for enjoying an alternative ambiance. Each of them has its own atmosphere and personality, but they all have one thing in common: the informality of their offer. Cala Saona beach also has its kiosk that bears its same name; in Es Pujols you have the People Formentera, and in the vicinity of this town’s beach, the kiosk S’Abeuradeta, sheltered by a juniper forest.
These establishments are not only open in winter, in summer they are authentic pilgrimage places, especially at sunset time for the corresponding drink. Each one has its own style but they all are in connection with their environment and have become meeting places where sharing from a soft drink to a cocktail is an unforgettable experience. These leisure venues have become essential for many visitors who think that without a beach bar there is no summer.
