Created in 1998 as a tribute to the DJs, artists, brands and projects that have made valuable contributions to the electronic music industry globally, the DJ Awards celebrate this 2020 their twenty-third edition. They take place in September, as prelude to the closing of the clubs’ high season.
The entire industry celebrates this event in a festive spirit because it is not a competition. It is the token of Ibiza’s appreciation of the talent of a dynamic and continuously evolving industry. Best international and local DJ, best summer track, best producer, best record label and the most prominent artists in the sub-genres that dance music encompasses are some of the DJ Awards categories and winners like Maya James Cole, Carl Cox, Maceo Plex, Herman Cataneo, Butch, Di Capo, Chase & Status, Simon Dunmore, Onyvaa y Charlotte de Witte in 2019.
After many years of being held at the Pacha nightclub, the Kryptonita awards inaugurated in 2019 a new location for the ceremony: the Heart club.
