Ibiza, cradle of literature and cinema

Over the years, arts such as film and literature have taken strong roots on the island of Ibiza. The Ibicine Festival, which in November celebrated its third edition, brings together a long list of directors and actors of national fame with projections which compete in national circuits.

The Mal de Cap Short Film Festival is another reference. The Pikes Literary Festival, which in September celebrated its second anniversary at the legendary Hotel Pikes, combines disciplines such as writing, photography and film. A festival in which writers, scriptwriters, producers and international creators are the protagonists.

Irvine Welsh, scriptwriter of ‘Trainspotting’, photographer Alberto García-Alix or writer Ray Loriga were some of the participants of the last edition. The International Festival of Music and Piano in Sant Carles or the children’s theater festivals in Sant Josep and Santa Eulària complete this important calendar of activities for all audiences.
