Connected by the sea

Formentera could be considered a round-trip island, because one leaves from and arrives at the same port called La Savina. Throughout the year several shipping companies ensure maritime connection with the neighbouring island of Ibiza.

In the summer months, the fast passenger boats, whose journey lasts half an hour, as well as the mixed ones (cargo and passengers) increase considerably their number of crossings reaching 179 daily links between both islands.

From May to October there is also a direct link from the port of Denia to that of La Savina. Once on land the best way to get around is to rent a bicycle, a motorcycle or a car. In the port itself, there is a wide range of rental companies that offer conventional and increasingly booming electric vehicles which are ideal for small territories. In summer, also the public transport increases, with several regular bus lines between the main towns and other tourist areas that allow you to get to know the main locations.
