In January 2017, the Gastronomic Academy of Ibiza and Formentera, a non-profit cultural association was founded. Its aim is to investigate, promote, disseminate and protect the gastronomic activitiy of Ibiza and Formentera.
This culinary entity, which is part of the network of regional headquarters of the Royal Spanish Academy of Gastronomy, collaborates in the dissemination of gastronomy, promoting esteem and expansion, as well as the preservation of the purity of traditions.
Throughout 2019, the Gastronomic Academy, chaired by Pedro Matutes, took on a new direction aiming at the use of new technologies and social networks. In addition, the group proposed to the Consell de Ibiza to collaborate with the gastronomic programs and projects sponsoring them inside and outside the island.
